Volunteers are integral to the success of all of our programs, providing needed assistance to carry out our youth and community programs, to operate our community facility and to execute successful fundraising events. We are always looking for friendly, energetic and dedicated volunteers who share our passion for building strong families and communities.
Our youth programs, The Learning Network and The Wisdom Warrior Project, require responsible adults to serve as mentors and advisors to our program participants. We also have need of community leaders and professionals to serve as presenters for designated instructional modules. If you enjoy working with young people to expand their horizons, this is the place for you.
Through our community programs we provide cultural, economic and social programming to enrich the community. Consider becoming a volunteer for our cultural arts and community enrichment programs and events that create boundless opportunities for youth and families. These programs and events include our Economic Education Series, Art Extravaganza and Honoring Local Heroes event.
The Torch of Wisdom Foundation Plaza exists as a resource to support programs that enrich the community. Rentals for personal events are also available. The Plaza is operated entirely by volunteers that facilitate an enjoyable, safe and secure environment for all program and community participants.
Are you interested in helping Torch of Wisdom Foundation raise money to support our programs? We host several fundraising events to support our programs and operation of our community facility and our volunteers are invaluable to these efforts. These events include our charity golf classic and charity raffles.
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the form below. A member of our committee will reach and provide you with details regarding roles, responsibilities and the date of our next Orientation meeting.
On behalf of the Torch of Wisdom Foundation, Inc., we would like to thank you for submitting your information. Based uopn the information you submitted, someone from the respective committee will be in contact with you soon.
Wisdom Warrior Session #1
We’re thrilled to kick off the new year with an amazing session this Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:30am! Please join us at The Glam Doctor Studio at 17390 W. Eight Mile Rd. Southfield, MI 48075. The Glam Doctor, Rashida Williams, is a visionary artist who empowers and nurtures the growth of young girls in the community by teaching them about the importance of self-care and inner beauty through the G.L.A.M (Genuinely Loving and Accepting Myself) Movement program. We will have a make-up tutorial along with a headshot photo session. This will be a fun, interactive session that will include self-esteem games to allow you to take a deep look inside answering the question, "Who Am I?'
We would love to see you there! There are ONLY 15 spots available. For returning Warriors, please RSVP to confirm your attendance by replying to wisdomwarriors.towf@gmail.com by Friday, January 12, 2024. Indicate if your child requires transportation. In addition, please respond to this email as confirmation that your child has permission to attend this event.
