LaSonja was elected to the Torch of Wisdom Foundation Board of Directors in 2009. She serves as the Youth Program Director and has launched two signature youth programs, The Learning Network and Wisdom Warriors, aimed to increase the employability skills and self-esteem for “at risk” students, while also helping them to develop a philanthropic mindset respectively.
She is proudly committed to the mission and the intentional programming for the youth. She is inspired by the bold vision, exceptional leadership, and the strong fiduciary acumen that the Board displays to support scholarship, cultural arts, and the community! LaSonja is motivated to give back to the community because growing up in the inner city of Flint she has been the recipient of programs aimed to expand the experiences and capabilities of youth. She has a passion for enhancing the communication and executive presence of our youth. She is committed to empowering youth to confidently make bold decisions that will set them up for long-term success!
LaSonja has held multiple positions throughout the #1 Bio Pharmaceutical Company - Pfizer Inc. with increasing levels of responsibility which includes sales, training, operations, marketing and serving as Chief of Staff for 3 Vice Presidents over the last 20 years. As Regional Business Director, LaSonja was responsible for leading and developing colleagues across 6 Midwest states and building strong cultures, partnering with communities to deliver breakthroughs that changed patient’s lives as the first African American female to ascend to this position. A “leader of leaders” within Internal Medicine formerly with Institutional Sales “eNECST” and currently transitioning from the Central ELITE Region, Team 2. LaSonja now holds the position of National Business Director with Pfizer Connect, supporting Internal Medicine.
LaSonja is a courageous leader who works tirelessly to raise awareness and build programs aimed to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. LaSonja’s passion is rooted in People, Performance and building diverse and inclusive cultures - whereby people can bring the best versions of themselves to work!
A Maven! A Marvel! A visionary and courageous leader focused and determined to Motivate, Inspire, and make a difference in the lives of people! LaSonja is a two-time Best-Selling Author and enjoys spending quality time with her wonderful husband.
LaSonja attended Florida A&M University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Minor in Accounting, and a Master of Business Administration. LaSonja is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also serves as the Youth Director at Triumph Church.
Wisdom Warrior Session #1
We’re thrilled to kick off the new year with an amazing session this Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:30am! Please join us at The Glam Doctor Studio at 17390 W. Eight Mile Rd. Southfield, MI 48075. The Glam Doctor, Rashida Williams, is a visionary artist who empowers and nurtures the growth of young girls in the community by teaching them about the importance of self-care and inner beauty through the G.L.A.M (Genuinely Loving and Accepting Myself) Movement program. We will have a make-up tutorial along with a headshot photo session. This will be a fun, interactive session that will include self-esteem games to allow you to take a deep look inside answering the question, "Who Am I?'
